Professor Pia Hardelid recently spoke at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) during the “Advances in Environmental Health Research: Platforms, Linkages, and Methods” symposium.
In her presentation, she highlighted the work of KEHC and emphasised the critical importance of linking environmental exposure data with child health records. Strengthening these connections is essential to advancing our understanding of how environmental factors influence children’s health and to supporting the next generation of public health research.
The symposium brought together leading researchers, data scientists, and policymakers to explore innovative approaches to integrating environmental and health data. Discussions focused on how improved data linkages can generate new insights into children’s health outcomes and help inform future research priorities and policy development.
Events such as this play a vital role in fostering collaboration across disciplines, strengthening data infrastructure, and ensuring that research can effectively address the complex challenges facing public health today.
