SEPTEMBER 2025 – Showcasing Our Research at the ADR UK 2025 Conference

SEPTEMBER 2025

In September, members of our team attended the Administrative Data Research UK (ADRUK) 2025 Conference in Cardiff, Wales. The theme of the conference was harnessing administrative data to enhance lives.

  • Professor Pia Hardelid’s presentation showed how KEHC will allow researchers to examine the impact of environmental exposures (e.g., air pollution, temperature and housing conditions) on children’s health and educational outcomes.
  • Niloofar Shoari presented her research on spatial and temporal trends in mental health service use among children and young people in England. Niloofar also co-led a workshop that offered practical solutions to link administrative and environmental data.
  • Amal Rammah presented findings from the Air Pollution, housing and respiratory tract Infections in Children: National Birth Cohort Study (PICNIC) Study, which investigated the relationship between early life air pollution exposure and bronchiolitis-related hospital admissions in the first year of life in London.
  • Selin Akaraci presented her findings, also from a PICNIC study, examining the association between prenatal exposure to fine particulate matter (PM2.5) and antibiotic dispensing during infancy.
  • Doctoral student Shi Difei reported on her use of mother-baby linkage in the Education and Child Health Insights from Linked Data (ECHILD) Study to examine how maternal contact with social care services during childhood influenced their children’s health and educational outcomes.
